BLACK ANARCHY

この作品は、Jamie ReidがSex Pistolsのためにデザインした初期の作品の一つであり、1976年のファーストシングル「Anarchy In The UK」のフライヤーとして使用されました。オリジナルフライヤーは、フォトグラファーのRay Stevensonがセント・オールバンズでのライブを撮影した写真を使い、ロンドンのペッカムにある「Rye Express」にて極めて少量に生産されました。

オリジナルからアップデートした本作品は、近寄らないと見えない程度の僅かな蛍光ピンクと蛍光グリーンを使用することで、視覚的なインパクトをさらに高めています。ロンドンのプリントスタジオ「K2」と共同で製作しました。

ポップカルチャーやナショナリズムのイメージを身代金要求に見立てたレタリングで破壊した彼の作品は、パンクロックの代名詞となり、最も有名なデザインは、セックス・ピストルズの「Never Mind the Bollocks」、「Anarchy In The UK」、「God Save The Queen」のカバーアートである。カルチャーの一時代を築いたイギリスアート界の重鎮。

 

This artwork was one of Jamie Reid's earliest designs for the Sex Pistols and was used as the flyer for their first single 'Anarchy In The UK, 1976'. The original flyer was produced in extremely small quantities at 'Rye Express' in Peckham, London, using photographs taken live in St Albans by photographer Ray Stevenson.

Updated from the original, this artwork uses fluorescent pink and fluorescent green to further enhance the visual impact. It was produced in collaboration with London print studio K2.
